Khiev Sokharavy came to Channel 21 again on April 30, 2008 to tell the world about the reason why Suk Sophea and she surprisingly called off their wedding only three days from the planned wedding day. Khieve Kokharavy started with a song called Yum Ors Tuk Pnek (Cry Until No More Tears). She told Yok Chinda that the main reason was her health and there was a “little other bothering matter” which only Suk Sophea and her know. With a follow up question from Yok Chinda, she then added that it was an old matter which she thought it was resolved but it turned out it was not. When Yok Chinda asked her about her relationship with Suk Sophea after the incident, she said Suk Sophea is still an important person to her but Suk Sphea and she have not been as close as before because they both are very busy. Khiev Sokharavy said postponing the wedding would allow them to resolve the outstanding matter and to get to know each other better, but she would not promise anything again. Khiev Sokharavy denied all rumors including a rumor about Suk Sphea getting shot and her running away with an Oknha, etc.

Khiev Sokharavy was seen to be healthier than when she was 4 months ago during the time she came with Suk Sokphea to Channel 21 to tell the world about their wedding plan. She seemed to be more relaxed but she spoke every carefully. Khiev Sokharavy said her health has been getting better and her career is also getting picked up. 2008 seems to be a better year for her. She has been very busy with her work both singing and acting. The beginning song – Cry Until No More Tears could tell about how she went through this ordeal. To conclude the program, she sang another song called Songkum Thngai Mouy (Hope for One Day). This song signified that she is hopeful and wishful for a better day for her and her relationship. Kheive Sokharavy is now 21. She was not very well-known until she had a relationship with Suk Soksphea. Now everybody knows her; especially after the incident. Nobody knew when Suk Sophear was presenting pink roses to Khiev Sokharavy with a promise to love her forever and when they both were jointly talking about their wedding plan on December 31, 2007 and January 1, 2008 on Channel 21 of CTN that their wedding would be cancelled just a day before it was scheduled to take place. There were different rumors when people didn’t see the wedding taking place as planned at Khiev Sokharavy’s house on December 31, 2007 and Chnei Tule Restaurant on January 1, 2008. One of the rumors was Suk Sophea was shot on December 30, 2007 and was brought into Calemette Hospital’s emergency room. We got search engine hits with search keywords like “Suk Sophea got shot”, “Suk Sophea died”, “Khiev Sokharavy wedding cancelled,” “Suk Sophear sick,” etc. since December 29, 2007. When something like that hits our website, it is normally a sign of rumors being spread and news articles follow soon after. We thought when seen all these keyword searches, “Oh no! Here we go again,” but there is nothing to confirm until a news article was released by Kohsantepheapdaily on January 1, 2008.

The wedding cancellation came out as a total surprise to everybody; especially those who watched Suk Sophear and Khiev Sokharavy on Channel 21 on December 27, 2007. According to Kohsantepheapdaily, Suk Sophear talked to them in brief without much explanation. There were conflicting answers from Suk Sophear when Kohsantepheapdaily staff tried to get a good explanation regarding their wedding cancellation. At one time, Suk Sophear said the wedding was cancelled because he was sick and at another time he said Khiev Sokharavy was sick. Both Suk Sophear and Khiev Sokharavy do not answer phone calls any more. So far there is no one confirmed reason as to why they suddenly had to put a brake on their wedding. However, undoubtedly there must be a compelling reason which they can’t avoid it but to cancel their wedding, as an unexpected cancellation like that can cost them money and cause hardships for their honorable wedding guests who travel from a distance to be part of their wedding. For sure, they wouldn’t want to do that if they didn’t have to.

Since a famous actor or actress like Suk Sophear or Khiev Sokharavy lives a complicated life as a celebrity, we know they are not going to open to any discussion or detail about the cause of the wedding cancellation any time soon. But if you read our update on December 27, 2007 everybody was puzzled with what Khiev Sokharavy said during the time she accepted the pick roses from Suk Sopear.

These statements clearly underlined some issues, and it was very clear that their love is not trouble or obstacle free. If you read Suk Sophear’s profile, you would see that Suk Sophear had some past troubled relationships or rumors about his love. Another keyword which Suk Sophear kept saying during the interview on Channel 21 show was “Khiev Sokharavy was willing to forgive him for and forget his past problems.” These are just some indications which can contribute to the problem and for a safety reason they had to put a stop on their wedding.

One other observation (we also stated in our last update) was both of them seen loosing some weights especially Khiev Sokharavy. She looked very skinny compared to how she looked just a couple months ago when she appeared on Mon Sne Samneang of CTN. I personally blurted a few times about her skinny look while watching the show. However, since people always control their weight to look good during their wedding, I thought to myself she did a great job controlling her weight and she looked great. This can be inferred as one of them might be truly too sick to go on with their wedding plan and that could be a reason as well. We all saw them sincerely talking about their relationship that night so it would be a horrible lie if they did that for any other reason. Yok Chenda emphasized a few times in the interview that that was for real – not for acting. We hope they didn’t do what Touch Srey Leak or You Disco did awhile ago. Another news article released by Kohsantepheapdaily on January 2, 2008 was that they still plan to get married at a later date – their wedding was only postponed – not cancelled. So we all should leave them alone to sort out their issues, and we’ll update you again when there is any new reliable information.

Updated on December 27, 2007: Khiev Sokharavy is getting married with Suk Sophea

There have been news articles on many local Khmer magazines about Khiev Sokharavy and Suk Sophear hanging out together, falling in love and living together in the same house for the past few months in Cambodia. However, in every conversation they had with the media, they always said their relationship was solely a pour friendship. Even when Khiev Sokharavy’s profile was added to Angkorthom.US on November 21, 2007, it was still not yet confirmed Suk Sophear had officially proposed to her though Khiev Sokharavy’s mother gave some hints about her daughter’s relationship with Suk Sophear. People and the media continued to speculate their loving relationship and wedding until December 27, 2007 when both of them made their appearance on CTN’s Channel 21 hosted by Yok Chenda and announced to the world that they are getting married on Jan 1, 2008 – the New Year day!

The Channel 21 program was aired first time on CTN on December 27, 2007 which was only 5 days away from their wedding day. Both Suk Sophear and Khiev Sokharavy were sitting next to each other telling about their loving relationship and their wedding plan. They both seemed to loose some weight but looked great and very happy. When asked what made Khiev Sokharavy the girl of his heart, Suk Sophear said because she was very understanding and forgiving. When asked what made Suk Sophear her Mr. Right, Khiev Sokharavy said because Suk Sophear didn’t only love her but also her family, and that was very important to her. Yok Chinda asked about how their relationship developed. Suk Sophear told the audience that he was the one who hit on her first when Khiev Sokharavy acted (worked) with him, and Khiev Sokharavy was in doubt if he was sincere at first.

Suk Sophear said he had been acting for almost 9 years and he saw a lot of girls but no one seemed to stick in his heart like Khiev Sokharavy did. He would call her to say good morning early in the morning and they both would talk to each other for hours on the phone in the evening. When making a phone call to Sokharavy, Suk Sophear said sometimes he had to make up a story that he dreamed the night before and saw Sokharavy on stage singing. Sokharavy said she would also lie and said yes I saw you in my dream last night too. Yok Chenda was making a joke and said their love was full of lies. Suk Sophear said at first he had to find stories to begin the conversation and didn’t really mean to lie.

When asked whose idea for them to get married on the 1st of January 2008, Suk Sophear said it was his decision with the agreement from their parents. He said he thought it was nice because the wedding would start on December 31, 2007 and conclude on January 1, 2008. It is touching two different years! At the end of the interview, Yok Chenda gave pink roses to Suk Sohpear to give to Khiev Sokharavy with whatever he wanted to say to her in public. Yok Chenda said, “This is for real – not for acting.” Suk Sophear took the flowers and gave them to Khiev Sokharavy. While he was trying to kiss and hug her after giving her the roses, in his soft voice he said, “Bong choun oun heiy bong sonaya tha srolach oun rohot.” – translated to “I am giving these followers to you and I promise to love you forever.” Khiev Sokharavy was overwhelmed with joys and became emotional. She was trying to control herself from crying, looking down with one hand on her face until she could smile and look back up to the audience again. While she was trying to control herself, Suk Sophear was tearful. They said they were over excited to have this moment. Some words Khiev, Sokharavy murmured when she was trying to wipe off her tears were, “there were people who love and hate us. I didn’t think there is today. There were people who tried to break us a part. ” Yok Chinda looked puzzled with what she was saying and wondered what exactly she meant. However, she moved on to say next time when she interviewed them, things would be progressing and they would have a child. Khiev Sokharavy said with a big smile on her face that for the next interview there would be a kid sitting next to her.

They both said they would continue their careers as an actor and singer as usual until there is no more support the audience. Based on a news article released by a local magazine in October, they are both planning to have their honeymoon in Australia. Another emerging star has been rising and catching everybody’s attention. Though people just began to know her, she has been on the media – magazines and newspapers quite a bit recently because the rumor about her relationship with Suk, Sophea. Not long ago she started her career adventure in acting for Angkorwat Production in a movie called Ratrey Lakhanak (The Night of Conditions) with Nhem, Sakhun. Afterward, she played a couple more movies that put her on a fast track to the front row, being a Khmer movie star. Khiev (Khieu), Sokharavy is a movie star, singer and TV hostess.

Like most Khmer female movie stars, Khiev, Sokharavy loves acting and singing since she was young. That was what she liked to do when she grew up. So, she decided to take a daring big step in acting with no formal acting education or experience when an opportunity presented by Angkorwat Production. Ratrey Lakhanak was her first movie with Nhem, Sokun who has a lot more experience than her. With help from her mother who is a former movie director, she had made a lot of people begin to see her real talent and abilities and can’t stop thinking about her character in the movie, especially directors from different movie production companies.

The first movie was a big success and created more opportunities for her. Khiev, Sokharavy then was offered to play for a couple more movies: Ploueng Sne Yuvivay (The fame of Young Love) by Reaksmey Koungchay Film Production and Nov Komlos Dol Na (How Long Do I Stay Single?) by Mekong Film Production. Each one of these movies is a big step forward for her, and now people have no doubts about her acting skills and abilities. She is a film star and her popularity begins to rise. In addition to her acting skills, Kheiv, Sokharavy can sing very well. She has been singing for Khoch Pisey Production. From time to time, she is on Monsne Somneang of Yok, Chinda and It, Setha – CTN and other TV programs and concerts. Her voice is very fine and soothing. Kheiv, Sokharavy sings mostly slow and oldie songs from the 1970s. Not only that, she is also a hostess for TV5 for a program called Lucky Games.

Khive, Sokharavy is now 19 years old. She was born and raised in Phnom Penh in a family of 8. Her father is a Custom Officer and her mother is a housewife. Some of her brothers and sisters live overseas. Khive, Sokharavy is very gentle and beautiful in the way she conducts herself. She has all what people call a Khmer girl. Together with her talent, beauty and character combined with her working-hard attitude, Khiev, Sokharavy is an angle to a lot of men. Among those, Suk, Sophea is one of them. There is a rumor about Suk, Sophea who is a more famous and experienced movie star was trying to get in line as a candidate to be her Mr. Right.

Suk, Sophea probably has what it takes to be her husband, but not long ago Kheiv Sokharavy had told Everyday that her relationship between her and Suk, Sophea was only a friendship and that Suk, Sophea needed a ride to get around. That was why they were seen in the car together most of the time. Regardless of what she told the media, people still speculate that Suk, Sophea is going to be the man who will win Khiev, Sokharavy’s heart as they always see them together very often and her mother seems to like Suk, Sophea as well.
